damn such a game the end made me panic a little but that was soo nice take me alot of time to understand hhhhh

This was super sweet and wholesome! The artwork and voice acting are top-notch (my favorite visual is definitely the VHS title screen), the story was really cute, and the relationship between Sada and Kou was well fleshed out. I could definitely see this being a supernatural/slice-of-life/romance type anime in the vein of Hanako-kun or something. Wish we got to see a sprite for Kou, but in my head I just pictured a younger Reigen Arataka which suffices too :3

Love how the VCR theme is worked into the menus. Very effective. I liked how 'quit' was 'eject'. Some really nice touches there. The parts of the game that had the VHS animation made my laptop absolutely tank though. Felt like it was hitting sub 10fps. But that it most likely a me problem rather than the game.

The voice acting was so good! Particularly liked Sada. Lots of expression and great delivery. Feels like it needs a bit more of a pause between the lines though. They run into each other a little when it's on auto. And it's a shame it's not all the way through. But I'm assuming it's just a victim of the game jam deadline. So completely understandable.

The the intermissions were a nice touch. Helped break things up in a stylish way.

I loved the Eminem/Hamilton mashup reference. That was awesome. And the humour in general was pretty good and was balanced nicely with the spookiness.

I was legit lulled into thinking it was going to be left as a sad ending. But huzzah! I liked the way the twist was presented just before the abrupt finish. And then post credits reveal topped it all off. Very nicely done.

All in all, great stuff! Congrats to the team!

PS double post from the game jam page because it annoys me it doesn't do that automatically.

A visual Novel with great story telling, super cute art and stellar Voice acting! without spoiling anything, it is a really nice story that plays with your expectations in a mild manner, I was expecting spooks but got a slice of life supernatural romantic comedy, good enough!

I found a little bug or something where the game closes itself at the end of a chapter, and I would have like a little more of interaction like choices and stuff, but that's just a personal preference on VN, this is still a great and very cinematic Visual novel, I think the introduction specially is very solid, you are a great team!

Keep the good work!

Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed it as much as we do! And thanks for reporting the bug. It should be fixed on the latest Win build.

This was so adorable :3 Heck, I actually kinda forgot I was reading a VN cos it felt so much like watching an anime movie it was such a treat for the eyes ^-^

And the voice acting was so gooood ^-^

Congrats to the whole team on an epic job anyhow... now, get your butts to work on the animated movie release :P chop chop! I wanna see it available on Netflix by the end of 2023 :3

Thank you very much for the feedback, Melancholy Marionette! Really happy to hear that it was a treat, and hope you enjoyed the play through :3

I'm going to bug our main artist @blink for that Netflix release :D

haiii! i have a problem running this. i can't play it bcs my antivirus keeps on telling me it's suspicious ;-;

It does the same for me, but then it happens with almost any indie game I try to play, haha. It usually scans it and just decides all is fine though. That didn't happen with this one, it just straight up blocked it >.< BUT, I did have the option on my antivirus to ignore the block and run the game anyway, so if your antivirus has the option anywhere to ignore the warning, just do that and tell it to allow the game to play :3

Hello Lampara! Would you able to share what OS and antivirus you're using that flags the game? Would really like to check up on it if possible.

In the meantime, hopefully Melancholy's comment will help and ignoring the warning for now will enable you to play the game :)

My OS is Windows 10 and the antivirus is AVG. I'll try running it again tho!

Thank you very much! I hope ignoring the AV warning works! I hope you enjoy the game :)

We'll also be looking into AVG antivirus and see if there's anything that we can do to prevent it from being tripped up.

I am a huge fan of yokai. I thought this game brought a fun and unique look of mashing yokai and detectives together. I also really enjoyed the voice acting!

I'm glad you liked the voice acting! Lucky and stoked to have worked with an excellent cast.

Hey, I enjoyed playing through this a lot!  I don't have any specific thoughts on the writing because it was solid throughout, but I wish the dialogue system was a bit more fluid as it is in Ren'Py.  I don't like having to wait and time my mouse-clicks after voice acting ends to continue the story.
